Southside Montessori School is a boutique, independent and co-educational school located in the South-West of Sydney. Our campus borders the Georges River and surrounding wetlands, with beautiful native bushland and wildlife that hold a special connection for our children and their families. Our community school offers authentic Montessori education for children from 3-12 years of age.

Established 43 years ago, Southside Montessori School has a long and distinguished history, proudly paving the way for other Montessori schools and pre-schools who strive to emulate our beautiful educational environment. Southside is the only Montessori school to host a Premier Teacher Training Centre onsite, where aspiring Montessori educators are trained by internationally acclaimed teacher trainers from Sydney Montessori Training Centre. Our community is fortunate to access a wealth of knowledge provided by founding members, staff, consultants and educationalists who love what they do.

The opportunity:

Southside Montessori School are raising all their Montessori standards to deliver an even more authentic Montessori curriculum. We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood educator who is motivated and passionate about Montessori philosophy and its implementation. This position offers the successful applicant an excellent opportunity to further progress your career as we envisage this post leading to a coordinator role.

We are inviting applications for the position of Stage 1, Montessori Educator (3-6 years), starting from the beginning of Term 2, 2022. This is an exciting, permanent opportunity to join a passionate small team of educators committed to the growth of our school through connection, communication and collaboration.

High commitment to best practice Montessori education and learning
To be an inspiring and passionate educationalist
A warm and caring manner and positive attitude
Strong communication skills with the capacity to build relationships with parents, staff members and the wider community
Knowledge of and experience with ACEQA registration and compliance requirements

Essential criteria:

A recognised Early Education degree approved by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA);
A reputable and Australian recognised 3-6 Montessori Diploma;
Ability to obtain a WWCC (Working With Children Check);
A relevant First Aid Certificate and Child Protection training, as approved by NESA, or willingness to obtain;
Current CPR & Asthma, Anaphylaxis training
COVID-19 Australian recognised double vaccination certificate.

* Salary is determined in accordance with the Independent Schools NSW/ACT Standards Model (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021 and ranges from $82,587 – $117,009, with additional leadership allowance, where relevant.
