MSCA (sounds like MISS-kuh) is a registered charity serving the community as the national, not-for-profit, member-based representative body for Montessori schools and centres. We are also the official Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Affiliated Society in Australia.
MSCA was established in 2019 in response to a clear mandate from the community after the collapse of the Montessori Australia Foundation. As Australia’s only national, not-for-profit, democratic, membership-based representative body, the support of our members ensures we can continue to grow a reputable, trustworthy, sustainable national representative organisation.
Our robust governance structure means MSCA members have a say in the future direction of our services, and our board directors are elected from the community each year. Essential values guide all our operations, services, and strategic planning, with our members and the Montessori community at the core of what we do.
We aim to inspire and guide the stability and expansion of genuine Montessori practice as we champion Montessori education for the benefit of our society.
