The Beehive Montessori School

Here at The Beehive Montessori School, we believe that education is a lifelong process of self-discovery, that learning should be a joyful experience, and that Montessori pedagogy is the most effective and successful model of education available today to meet this end.

Dr Maria Montessori revolutionised the concept of education by devising a system that put the student at the centre of learning, as opposed to the historical industrial model of education, which focused on the role of the teacher. This is the beauty of a Montessori education. It is a sophisticated and ingenious method of responding to the developmental needs of children, in order to make education a joyful, effortless and meaningful experience.

Beehive is not just another school. In a geographical area flanked by some strong competition, Beehive is an independent Montessori school that has stood the test of time and fits well amongst the Independent, Government and Catholic schools nearby. The school is coeducational and comprises a playgroup (18 months to 3 years), Junior Primary (ages 3-6), Middle Primary (ages 6-9), Upper Primary (ages 9-12) and an Adolescent Program (ages 12-15) as well as an Education Support Centre for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.

The Beehive Montessori School is recognised for its commitment to a high-quality authentic Montessori education in accordance with Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) principles. This is achieved through a dedicated, passionate and experienced team of Montessori educators and support staff, and our adherence to the Montessori National Curriculum which has been recognised by national and state regulatory organisations.
