Castlecrag Montessori School is a parent-run, non-denominational co-educational preschool and kindergarten that offers Montessori classes for children aged 3–6 years. Castlecrag Montessori school is located on Sydney’s Lower North Shore and has students from Castlecrag, Northbridge, Willoughby, Roseville, Chatswood, Crows Nest, Greenwich and Artarmon.
The Montessori classroom is a supportive and nurturing environment carefully prepared with self correcting materials to facilitate independent learning and exploration. There is a shared emphasis on intellectual, social, emotional and physical development to support your child reach their full potential. Younger children attend for a half day session (8:30am – noon) and the older children attend for a full day (8:30am – 3:00pm). The school offers before and after school care as an optional extra for children enrolled at the school.
The program is called Casa. The class is supported by highly skilled and experienced teaching staff, qualified in Early Childhood and Montessori Education. Our educators are dedicated to creating a warm and safe environment for children to grow and discover. The school prides itself on having close working relationships with parents, students and educators, providing benefit to your child’s education through the provision of continuity and consistency of staff. The facilities include a large, open, engaging and fully equipped Montessori environment. The children also have access to a large outdoor natural play area. This beautiful environment has been carefully landscaped to promote creative play, encourage confident exploration, and help children develop an affinity for nature.
The School is licensed by the Department of Education and is registered by the NSW Educational Standards Authority to provide kindergarten level education. Castlecrag Montessori School is a not-for–profit Incorporated Association. It is managed by a volunteer parent committee with the assistance of a part time administrator and the teaching staff. The operation of the school is governed by numerous detailed policies and by the Rules of Association, which were developed when the school was formally established in 1990.
