About the Workshop:

Montessori Principles: Through a 6-12 Lens

In the book, “Montessori: The Science Behind the Genius” (2007) Angeline Stoll Lillard summarised Montessori education by highlighting eight key principles:

  1. Movement and Cognition
  2. Choice
  3. Interest
  4. Extrinsic Rewards are Avoided
  5. Learning with and from Peers
  6. Learning in Context
  7. Teacher Ways and Child Ways
  8. Order in Environment and Mind

But what do these principles actually mean and what do they look like in practice, in the context of the 6-12 environment?

Come along to this workshop to discuss these key principles and how they can be supported and upheld in the Montessori 6-12 environment.  Be prepared to discuss and share your observations, experiences and current practices.
