Montessori International College is seeking a talented and inspirational Montessori teacher.

Teaching experience in a Montessori school setting is beneficial but not essential.  Initially, this is a 12-month contract position commencing in Term 1, 2024 with the possibility of an ongoing position.

The position would suit a secondary school teacher seeking to add value to student learning experiences within a contemporary learning context. Our learning programs are inspired and enriched by the writings of Maria Montessori.

The ideal candidate is an effective classroom practitioner able to work as a part of a teaching team to design and deliver meaningful learning experiences that support students and colleagues in reaching beyond the ordinary.  This candidate is at ease using creative, collaborative, and transdisciplinary approaches to improve learning experiences and student outcomes.

About the Role

The full-time position will initially be a 12-month contract commencing in Term 1, 2024 with the possibility of an ongoing position.

Minimum qualifications: Current full QCT registration, or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland and current Working With Children Blue Card (Queensland).

Desirable qualifications: Secondary English & HAAS experience.  Montessori Diploma, Certificate, or experience in a Montessori setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support learning outcomes for students aged 12-15 years through well-designed curriculum and effective teaching pedagogy and practice

  • Provide inspiring learning experiences together with consistent and meaningful student feedback

  • Establish supportive and trusting relationships with students and parents which ultimately support student performance and wellbeing

  • Develop and manage the resources required to facilitate and support student learning within your  learning environment

  • Communicate and interact with all members of the school community and the broader community with sincerity and humility.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create and deliver an exemplary learning program
