Margaret River Montessori is seeking innovative Guides/Teachers to join our growing Adolescent Program as we transition to our 102-acre farm-based property in beautiful Metricup in January 2025. We are looking for dynamic individuals committed to fostering a love of learning and who are eager to grow with us as we expand into Year 11 and 12 at our authentic Montessori Farm School.
JOB CRITERIA
The Adolescent Teacher is passionate about working with and empowering adolescents. These roles are part of a highly collaborative team of Guides in a program grounded in Montessori Adolescent pedagogy.
Our ideal candidates will have/demonstrate:
– an AMI 12-18 Adolescent Guide Diploma.
– how they would approach teaching in a farm-based centre of work and study.
– teaching qualifications in the aforementioned core subjects as well as ability to teach across a range of curriculum areas including but not limited to the creative/performance and culinary arts.
– current TRBWA registration and WWCC (Working With Children Check) or be able to get these upon employment.
– training and/or experience working within the Big Picture Education framework and the IBPLC.
– the National Professional Standards for Teachers.
– exceptional IT, written and interpersonal communication skills.
– current certification in First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma.
– Mandatory Reporting of Child Sexual Abuse training completed within the last year at date of employment or upon employment.
– that they hold student safety and wellbeing up as their highest priority and strive with attention to detail to work on and for this at all times.

– Can take our students right through to Year 12 and beyond with knowledge of options for varied tertiary and vocational pathways.
– Operate from a strengths-based perspective to develop safe, positive and productive learning experiences where all students are encouraged and enabled to participate and enjoy learning, including those with learning differences and disabilities.
– Evaluate your teaching practice reflectively. This includes classroom observations by, and in collaboration with, colleagues and parents.
– Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and organisation with regard to curriculum programming, lesson planning, assessment and monitoring of individual student progress and feeding back and reporting effectively on this to students and parents.
– Demonstrate dedication to looking after the wellbeing of students and their families and operate with empathy and diplomacy.
– Have a strong work ethic and are dedicated to continuous improvement for yourself and for your students.
– May have experience in managing a multi-aged classroom and developing lessons and materials accordingly.

JOB DETAILS
Position reports to: Principal
Contract type: full-time or part-time dependent on enrolments
Contract term: ongoing following probation
Start Date: January 2025
Salary Range: TBC according to our 2025 board approved staff salary scale and based on experience and education
