Northwest Montessori Preschool is an established Montessori Preschool based in Brunswick, Coburg, and Essendon offering a Montessori Quality Assured Programme for children aged from 3 to 6 years of age. We are currently looking for a passionate Full Time Montessori / Early Childhood Diploma Educator to join our Essendon team. In addition, we are also looking for casual staff to work across our centres. If you have a love of working with children in a Montessori environment, have profound respect in meeting children’s needs and want to work with an experienced and innovative team that supports professional development, then this role is for you!

The successful applicant is required to have the following –

  • Completed or working towards a 3-6 Montessori Orientation Certificate or Diploma (preferably AMI)
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care
  • Current First Aid Training as per ACECQA requirements
  • Current Working with Children’s Check and willingness to undertake National Police Check
  • Prior experience in working in a Montessori environment
  • Understanding of the VEYLDF and NQS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Commitment to Child Safe Standards
  • Eligible to work in Australia

Your responsibilities include:

  • Support the growth development and encourage learning opportunities in accordance with the Montessori Curriculum and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework;
  • Preparation of the learning environment including materials, equipment, and cleaning;
  • Develop strong relationships with children at the service;
  • Recording and maintaining observations of children’s progress and development;
  • Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times for children and staff and accurate recordings of incidents, and:
  • Contribution to fortnightly team planning and classroom reflections.

The permanent position hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Northwest Montessori Preschool is closed for 4 weeks over the Christmas period and offers a 50% staff discount to educators whose children attend the service.
