The Principal of Inner Sydney Montessori School (ISMS) invites applications for the position of Primary School Assistant from a current educator, or other suitably interested and aligned individual, who has a passion for child-focused, kinaesthetic and project-based learning.
This is an exciting full-time opportunity for a passionate educator to join our School. This position is available for an immediate start.
Recognised as one of Australia’s leading Montessori registered schools, our child focused Pre and Primary School enrols around 300 students between the ages of 3-12. In addition, around 100 students are enrolled per term in the Infant Community Program for 0-3 year olds.
We facilitate a child-centered pedagogical model tailored to individualised and independent learning with respect to the social, emotional and intellectual development of the child. A Classroom Assistant is a vital support role, enabling the Director to facilitate the learning needs of each individual child within a multi-age classroom.

This wonderful opportunity is for an enthusiastic, energetic, creative, responsible and hardworking Assistant to support our outstanding team of staff and play a key role in an authentic Montessori community.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role, with an embedded or emerging understanding and appreciation of the Montessori philosophy. You may hold a
teaching qualification. A Montessori Certificate or AMI Diploma would be highly regarded. You will have a Working With Children Check number, a Child Protection Certificate (CHCPRT001) and a valid first-aid qualification, or be willing to obtain these qualifications supported by the School.
You will demonstrate:
- A passion for education and a strong desire to work within a collaborative, authentic environment;
- The ability to promote a positive and supportive ethos for pupils where all are valued, encouraged and challenged to achieve the best they can;
- Ability to work collaboratively with ISMS staff, parents and external professionals;
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
