Rockingham Montessori School is a co-educational Pre Kindy – Yr 12 School with 285 students located in Rockingham with additional sites opening in Port Kennedy in January 2022. Our School is small by design and has a wonderful community feel where every child and family is treated as an individual.
We are currently looking to appoint enthusiastic and self-motivated Education Assistants to join the team in our Port Kennedy location Primary School for a position commencing January 2022 and a position mid-year. The School seeks experienced Montessori trained applicants who are student centred in their approach to education. The Children’s House age is 3-6 years and the Lower Primary age is 6-9 years. Full Time, full and half day positions available.
About the role:
The role involves assisting the Teacher in our Primary School, to provide a wonderful Montessori learning environment in which each child can grow to their full potential in all spheres of their development – social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual in accordance with Montessori philosophy.
The role of the EA includes preparation of equipment and tasks, provide assistance and supervision to students in their class. Communicating student information and updates to parents and working as a collaborative member of the educational team is essential, to achieve the best outcomes for every child.
The EA will:
· Support the philosophy and ethos of Rockingham Montessori School.
· Support the personal, social and intellectual development of students in keeping with the Montessori philosophy.
· Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students; and
· Support the teacher to establish and maintain the best possible Montessori learning environment.

Skills and experience:
The position would suit an enthusiastic EA who has completed a Cert IV in Education Support and has completed or is undertaking AMI Montessori training or is familiar with Montessori principles and learning environments and is willing to undertake the relevant training.
