Rockingham Montessori School is a co-educational Pre Kindy – Yr 12 School with 330 students located in Rockingham and Port Kennedy. Description:
We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Children’s House Teacher to join the teaching team at our Rockingham Primary School site for a full time position (1.0) FTE commencing Jan 2024. The School seeks experienced Montessori trained applicants who are student centred in their approach to education. The Lower Primary age group is 3-6 years.

About the role:
The role involves teaching in our Primary School, to provide a wonderful Montessori learning environment in which each child can grow to their full potential in all spheres of their development – social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual in accordance with Montessori philosophy.
The role of the teacher includes preparation of individual learning programs for students in their class. The teacher will lead and monitor the learning of each child, ensuring that the outcomes of the Montessori National Curriculum are achieved. Communicating student development to parents and working as a collaborative member of the educational team is essential, along with discussing and planning for individual children to ensure that we achieve the best outcomes for every child.

Skills and experience:
The position would suit an enthusiastic teacher who has completed or is undertaking their Montessori training, or an outstanding teacher who is familiar with Montessori principles and learning environments and is willing to undertake the relevant training. All learning area specialists will be considered.
