Southside Montessori School is a boutique, independent and co-educational school located in the South-West of Sydney. Our campus borders the Georges River and surrounding wetlands, with beautiful native bushland and wildlife that hold a special connection for our children and their families. Our community school offers authentic Montessori education for children from 3-12 years of age.

Established 43 years ago, Southside Montessori School has a long and distinguished history, proudly paving the way for other Montessori schools and pre-schools who strive to emulate our beautiful educational environment. Southside is the only Montessori school to host a Premier Teacher Training Centre onsite, where aspiring Montessori educators are trained by internationally acclaimed teacher trainers from Sydney Montessori Training Centre. Our community is fortunate to access a wealth of knowledge provided by founding members, staff and educationalists who love what they do.

The opportunity:

Southside Montessori School are committed to providing an authentic Montessori curriculum. We are seeking a qualified Primary school teacher who is motivated and passionate about Montessori philosophy and its implementation. The successful applicant will bring energy and enthusiasm to the role as well as a commitment to the school’s growing community.

We are inviting applications for the permanent position of Stage 3, Montessori Educator (6-9/9-12 years), starting from the beginning of Term 2, 2022. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small passionate team of educators committed to the growth of our school through connection, communication and collaboration.

Essential criteria:

A recognised Primary Education degree approved by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA);
A reputable and Australian recognised 6-12 Montessori qualification
Ability to obtain a WWCC (Working With Children Check);
A relevant First Aid Certificate and Child Protection training, as approved by NESA, or willingness to obtain;
Current CPR & Asthma, Anaphylaxis training
COVID-19 Australian recognised double vaccination certificate.

* Salary is determined in accordance with the Independent Schools NSW/ACT Standards Model (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021 and ranges from $82,587 – $117,009, with additional leadership allowance, where relevant.
