About the Business
Sydney Montessori School is a specialist independent school located in the Sutherland Shire, in a wonderful spacious setting close to Gymea station. The school has been operating since 1981, and prides itself on offering an excellent authentic Montessori education from birth to age 12 in Primary. The School has also recently opened a small Secondary program (students in Years 7-10) which will progressively grow to Year 12.

About the role
Montessori Primary teaching role – Full time, permanent role.

The Sydney Montessori School (SMS) requires an energetic and enthusiastic Montessori teacher for our Primary area for a full time position commencing Term 3 2024. The position will be preferably Stage 1 based (3-6 years old).

Commencement Date: Monday 14th October, 2024 or Term 1 2025 by negotiation

Teaching with Us
The role involves teaching in our primary section, to provide a wonderful Montessori learning environment in which each child can grow to their full potential in all spheres of their development – social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual in accordance with the Montessori philosophy.
The role of the teacher includes preparation of the indoor and outdoor environment, leading and monitoring the learning of each child, ensuring that the outcomes of the Montessori curriculum and the NESA curriculum are achieved, communicating student development to parents and working as a member of the educational team discussing and planning for individual children to ensure that we achieve the best outcomes for every child.

The position would suit an enthusiastic teacher who has completed their Montessori training, or an outstanding teacher who is familiar with Montessori principles and learning environment and is currently undertaking Montessori training or is willing to undertake the relevant training.

Skills and experience
The position would suit an enthusiastic person who is trained in the Montessori methodology or someone who is currently undertaking Montessori training, familiar with a Montessori environment or keen to learn Montessori principles. Teachers must be currently registered or eligible for NESA registration as a teacher in NSW. A valid Working with Children Check clearance is required.
