Sydney Montessori School is located in the Sutherland Shire, on a wonderful spacious setting close to Gymea station. At Sydney Montessori School we offer Montessori education to children aged from 15 months till 6 years of age in Early Childhood, across two long day care rooms and two preschool rooms.
We encourage a holistic view of the child through the Montessori approach and we aim to instil in children a love of learning that is not only for now, but also for their future.
In our centre we provide purposeful and stimulating early childhood activities and experiences, which enhance each child’s growth and development.
About the role
Sydney Montessori School (SMS) requires an energetic and enthusiastic person to join our team. The role involves leading our ‘Tara’ classroom, to provide a wonderful Montessori learning environment in which each child can grow to their full potential in all spheres of their development – social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual in accordance with Montessori philosophy, with children aged 15mths to 3 years of age.
The role includes preparation of the indoor and outdoor environment, leading and monitoring the learning of each child, undertake written observations and documentation in line with EYLF, NQF and NQS, communicating with families and working as a member of the educational team discussing and planning for individual children to ensure that we achieve the best outcomes for every child.

The role will require some flexibility on start and finish times between the opening times of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Skills and experience
Experience with working with the age group of 15mths to 3 years essential
Montessori 0-3 training is an advantage – (or willingness to undertake)
Diploma in accordance with ACECQA
Working with Children’s check
In depth knowledge of the EYLF, NQS/NQF
Demonstrated ability to complete documentation and daily records with excellent written and communication skills
Ability to build respectful and meaningful relationships with children, educators and families
ACECQA approved First aid qualification that includes applying first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis
Current knowledge of child protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
Ability to provide room leadership and work as part of the SMS team
