0-3 Montessori Assistant

Assistants are key to helping prepare the complex learning environments and enable Montessori educators to do their work.
Hold or actively working towards an ACECQA approved certificate III level qualification and an AMI Montessori 0-3 orientation certificate, or equivalent.
Hold a Blue Card [Queensland’s Working with Children Check promoting child-safe schools]
Support the educator to maintain the environment and Montessori principles through encouraging children to self-select work, follow uninterrupted work periods of free choice enabling children to work at their own pace, utilising conflict resolution, physically helping children with life activities (toileting, changing).
Role model respect, patience and adaptability through interactions and grace and courtesy.
Be committed to ongoing individual and collaborative professional development in Montessori Education, observation, critical reflection, broad awareness and scanning of the environment and supporting children with challenges.
Building positive respectful relationships, with colleagues, parents/ guardians, and participate actively in the life of the school community.
