What Are Montessori Parent Guides?

  • Our Parent Guides provide families with a practical introduction to Montessori pedagogy and authentic Montessori practice across each stage of development. The Guides are available to purchase as high-quality, professionally printed A5 booklets.

Designed for both current and prospective Montessori families, the Parent Guides offer a helpful resource for understanding Montessori education and answering common questions about the Montessori approach.

Each Parent Guide explores key aspects of the Montessori experience, including the Learning Community, Learning Environment and Montessori Adults.

Each section includes:

  • Essential Elements – helping families understand the key principles and practices of Montessori education.
  • What it looks like – examples of how each Essential Element may be seen in practice.
  • Questions to ask Montessori staff – suggested questions to support conversations with educators.
  • Questions to ask yourself – prompts to consider when observing a Montessori school or centre.

 

Parent Guides are available for Birth–3, Ages 3–6, Ages 6–12 and Ages 12–18, providing families with guidance relevant to each stage of their child’s Montessori journey.

Why Are Montessori Parent Guides Important?

Providing parents with this deep Montessori knowledge as early as possible helps increase their engagement with and commitment to choosing Montessori for their family.

It also helps parents become advocates for your school or centre and Montessori education as a whole.

How Can I Use Them?

Possible ways to use the Parent Guides include:

  • As a follow-up document for prospective parents after a tour;
  • Insert a copy with your prospectus or welcome pack for new families;
  • Have copies available on Open Days or in welcome bags;

Customised Parent Guides

Parent Guides can also be customised for your school or centre, providing a co-branded version featuring your organisation’s details.

A $300 flat co-branding fee applies to customised orders, in addition to the cost of the Parent Guides. This includes preparation of the co-branded design and up to two revisions.
