We are currently seeking dedicated Classroom Assistants to work alongside our Montessori educators, supporting the daily rhythm of the classroom, and contributing to a prepared and respectful learning environment for all students.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
– Assist the classroom Director in maintaining a calm and engaging classroom aligned with Montessori principles;
– Support students’ development through observation and assistance with self-directed learning activities;
– Help maintain the prepared environment by organising and caring for classroom materials and classroom environment;
– Provide respectful, responsive support to children individually or in small groups, while encouraging independence and self-confidence;
– Assist in the implementation of routines and transitions;
– Supervise students during break times and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being;
– Support inclusive practices by being attuned to the needs of each child and offering appropriate support within the Montessori framework.
Qualifications and Experience
– Diploma in Education Support and/or Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
– Montessori Diploma (3-6 or 6-12); preferred, but not required
– At least 3 years’ experience working in an educational setting, ideally in a Montessori or early childhood/primary environment
– Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card
– Current First Aid Training (or willingness to obtain)

– Genuine passion for Montessori education and child development;
– Ability to build trusting, respectful relationships with children and staff;
– Strong communication and collaboration skills;
– Patient and adaptable, with the ability to follow the classroom Director’s lead and respond to the needs of the classroom;
– Willingness to learn and deepen understanding of Montessori philosophy and practice;
– Familiarity with the structure, materials, and rhythms of a Montessori classroom is highly desirable.

The role is full-time from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. With stand-down time between school terms.
